RECENTLY PURCHASED .375 AND .458LOTT:

.375 SHOT 50 YD high 8 INCH

.458 shot approx 13 inches low, 3inches right. both using open sights only.

sent to Kimber who replaced both rear sights and .375 front sight.

They shot both-.375 okay, but .458 scatters their shots at about 4 inches low, 2 inches right. Their info with their targets returned only saying .458 does not group well.

I have subsequently free floated both barrels - have yet to shoot with open sights. I will use scopes primarily, but need to have open sights available.

Why did they not try to improve the groups? Has anyone had better service from Kimber? They advertise open sights right on at 50 yds. Should this promise be met when they ask +/- $ 3000.00 each?

Ask the company if they would take those rifles to hunt dangerous game in Africa, and if they say yes see if you can be the beneficiary on their insurance policy :).

Pathetic out of the box performance for what those rifles go for. Hopefully Kimber will make things completely right.

Just my .02,
