Well after shooting a Benelli nova with 3 1/2 magnums I am considering getting a 835 because of the 3 1/2 chamber and overbore barrell for better patterning. This would be a waterfowl gun for Idaho.
I say that because of the weather. Id like a sei but am worried about reliability in in snow.ice on the snake river. A Benelli SBE may be reliable but the price is out of my range right now. So pump it is. I have a mossy 500 20g and ma happy with itso hence the 835..
Now yes those 3 1/2 magnums kick but the problem isnt that its my short arms. Im 5'2" and the advertised 14.5" LOP will be too much. COnsidering this http://www.blackhawk.com/product/CompStock-Shotgun-Stock,1155,165.htm
it has 13.5" LOP which is shorter than my 500. And it helps with the recoil. Yea it wont match the cammo but hey Krylon fixes that right ;)
So what are your thoughts? Does the overbore barrell help the patterns? Anyone use that stock?
Or is there a better gun at a good price? I do like a lighter shotgun for an easy swing and 26" barrell is preferred to help swing through the reeds along tghe river bank.
