HELP!!

I just bought a new Sig 239 9mm with the Siglite night sights. They are suppose to be adjustable, but there are no instructions. Two questions:

1. Short of buying an expensive tool from Sig, what do I use to adjust them? Pliers? Sledgehammer?

2. Where can I find instructions/user info for the sights?

Thanks.

Fixed sights can be drifted using the proper tool. Anything less like pounding can destroy the vials that hold the Tritium.

You can get a tool that is basically the exact same thing as SIG sells, for about $80. Mine looks just like the one they sell (and I'm pretty sure the same company makes it), and works very well at replacing and adjusting the sights.

While I know others have done it, I would not be pounding on the night sights with a hammer and punch. The standard sights woundnt be an issue.

The tool has witness marks for an initial windage zero. I've replaced the sights on a bunch of guns now, and only had one that was not zeroed by using the marks. That gun also had a weird sight number combo on it, and the rear was not centered when I got it. Its still not, but its now zeroed for me.

If your looking to change the elevation of the sights, you will need to get a new front sight of the proper height. There is a chart in the back of your manual that explains the differences in impact between them.

Its made by MGW and I got it over at Top Glock, but they dont seem to be showing them there any more.

Midway has them, in stock, but for about $120.

This is the tool I have....

(It says "rear sight tool", but it actually does both front and rear. The smaller notch next to the big one is for the front sight.)

This place also shows them, and at $90. Its a different color, but looks to be the same thing. The model numbers they show match the ones on my box. I havent dealt with them, so your on your own there. :)

If your a member over at the SIG Forum, this might also be an alternative. Some members will loan out their tools. Dont know the particulars, but heres the link.
