Date My S&W 17-6

Can anyone help me date my Smith & Wesson Mod 17-6 Serial # BEA04XX ?

I just found one in 95% + condition, in the original box. Great piece, shoots well, and is pristine.

The serial number dates to Aug. 1989 when the 17-5 was discontinued.

But the 17-6 full-lug barrel model change didn't happen until 1990.

So?
I'd say it had to be one of the first 17-6's made during the changeover.

Mine does not have a full lug nor a pinned barrel. Nonetheless, it's a real nice piece.
