Did smith and wesson make a 617 in 8/3/8 ? I am looking to purchase one cannot find one. If they made one where would be a good place to find one .

I think that barrel length has been out of production for a few years. Your best bet is the used market.

Have a 617 8 3/8 six shooter thats a tack driver. sorry not for sale.the kids use it for ihmsa and nra silhouette .

Re: the 8-3/8 S&W 617 - Saw one at Gander Mountain the other day - I am in Central Florida, actually it was in their Sanford, Fl store. If you have a Gander in your area, get with them and have them check their ALL store inventory for one and have it sent to your local store - Done all the time, I am told, Good Luck
