I have a friend that really likes the 1911 look. He wants it in 9mm though and to be reliable. I cant seem to find anything that looks like a 1911 that isnt one....

There are 1911-style pistols chambered for 9mm Luger... Double-stack, single-stack, polymer, steel, expensive, really expensive, etc.

Something that looks like a 1911, but isn't one, humm. If you want someone that looks like a 1911, get a 1911. The 1911 is a certain style of pistol, there are only different grades of such a pistol. If you want a pistol that has the specifications of a 1911, and functions similar, but isn't known as a 1911 then there are many pistols that come close, although most don't have a grip safety.
