finally found the ruger lcp after searching for 1 month at an academy in hou, tx. was a little more than I wanted to pay $349 + tax, regular price was $299.99, but mine came with a hard plastic box and extra magazine. woohoo :barf: i really dont need the extra mag or box.

I wanted the g17, but they only had the g17L in stock so I got that for home defense(17+1). I dont have anything high cap except some safe queens so I went with the glock for assurance.

i had the g34, but it wasnt very good for me and the trigger felt icky so I sold the slide. I am looking for that advan arms .22lr kit so I can use my g34 frame.
this g17l is pretty nice and the trigger pull is nice, as well as the reset.

will post pics soon. :neener:

self defense, yes. home defense, no. i'd keep the LCP, but look for something in a larger caliber to keep for the home.

I'm pretty sure the OP says in his post that he bought the Glock 17 for home defense.

lol, whoops. there is a little confusion.

the lcp is for CC during the summer. got tired of my s&w 642.

the g17L is for HD, now that sounds a little better.

You can buy a standard slide for the 17L. I did for mine. If you ever want to carry that Glock, the shorter slide makes it a bit easier.
I don't know about your 17L, but mine has the 3.5 ib trigger. That's a bit lighter then I like for a defense firearm. Something to consider...

I've got an LCP on order too, BTW. It'll be a nice vest pocket gun.

lol. my serial prefix starts with 371 on the LCP so there is no recall on mine.

it's been really bad in my neighborhood lately. 3 homes broken in the last 1.5months. my dads truck and neighbors vehicles got broken in 2 days ago. just last night, heard 5 shots go off on my street. all of my neighbors heard it, but no one knows what happened.

Cool. I looked at both of those the other day. The LCP is ok but we already have a Bersa .380 and like it very much but I really took a liking to a used G17 they had and that will probably end up coming home with me one of these days here shortly :)

P.S. Sorry for the run on sentence ;)
