Wanting to build from scratch

I am wanting to build guns from scratch as sort of a hobby. I am almost done building my AR15, and up to this point have assembled the gun piece by piece. I enjoyed doing that, and would like to look into buying gun kits. I do not mind doing woodwork, or anything. Where can I find decently priced gun kits?

Every time I read that someone wants to build a gun "from scratch" I think of blocks of metal and round bar stock. ;)

Yep. Otherwise, it's just assembling puzzle pieces.

These guys have an AMAZING variety of gun kits that will take a little more work than a jigsaw-puzzle like an AR. I know you didn't ask about muzzle-loaders specifically, but these are VERY nice and you'd get the chance to practice several different skill sets in the fit and finish end of things.

I don't know of anyone offering a traditional bolt-action or other cartridge repeater as a kit. Of course, if you can always hit Brownell's for just about anything to build a gun, if you have the equipment and knowledge to make the "kit" yourself.
