The expander sticks once or twice every 5 shells on so. Adjusted it down to where it was good when setting it up, then all of a sudden it over expands a case. I figure something is sticking but have no idea where to start. I have looked everything over and all seems to be ok. Other calibers have no issues so I assume that it has to be something in the 45-70 setup. Does anyone have an idea or is this something that I should give to Dillon to figure out ?

So you full sized all of the cases? Have you checked your case lengths? Are some significantly longer than others? Is it possible that you set up your expander die with a case that's at the short end of the OAL range and when you expand cases at the longer end of the OAL range you have a problem. Just a guess so if it's out in left field ... sorry.

In first stage deprimed and sized. All cases are good length. It appears like something is sticking but I cannot find it. Had to adjust the expander down as the cases were not expanding at all. Was an already set up dies head. That was good when put away. Set the expander down, not every2nd or 3rd case overexpands. I have no idea where to look. Took it all. And I do mean all apart and checked every piece over. All looks good. Even had someone else watch the press as I worked it to see if they could see something. And when I say over expand I mean it. Had to throw the cases out. Could no longer get them into the sizing die.

Simple things first...have you cleaned or degreased your expander die? Check that first. I have that happen to me while loading 44 Mag cases that had not been cleaned(tumbled)previously. :)
