Browning Buckmark Field

I'm contemplating getting a Buckmark Field model and sticking a red dot on it for a fun plinker. I have a TT Olympia, but understand parts are almost non-existent for this gun, so I want to replace it. And of course, no one has a Field in stock. Gotta order it. So, are the triggers on the different models basically the same? If I "test" the trigger on a basic model, is that approximately what I'll find on a Field? I've never had a handgun with an optic on it and figure this would be a fun first gun to try. Just trying to get an idea of what the triggers are like on these guns. Thanks for any replies.

I've had 5 or 6 different styles of Buckmarks, all had very similar triggers.

I can't find a link, but consider doing the Heggis Trigger mod (it is somewhere online, is free, and doesn't take much time) for an improved buckmark trigger.

All the Browning Buckmark triggers are about the same. That is to say that they are OK out of the box. They can be improved in several ways. The Heggis spring flip is one way.

I have found that my cheapest Buckmark, my Camper, has as good or better trigger as my Target and Bullseye model.

Best regards.

I had the Buckmark Field with the top picatinny rail, it's trigger was very nice. I recently sold the gun, ($275) because I found that I shot as well with my "antique" High Standard pistols without that big heavy barrel! So, it was an extra gun in my locker. I gave the girl who bought it, a laser quick point off an air soft gun to mount on top of gun, I think that combo would have been trick as well. The gun I had, was equipped with a 4X scope which made it DEATH to squirrels!

Thanks for the info. I hate ordering a gun without having some idea what the trigger is going to be like. I might even try that spring trick if I get my nerve up.

Just a comment on the pics: when it comes to just flat gorgeous industrial design, there is nothing like a Browning.
