Whaere exactly is the best place to apply grease to a bolt? I have two Mausers and a K31. My M48 and the K31 are smooth as silk with just oil, but my K98 is a little rough. I know I would put a dab on the back of the lugs where they make contact. Should I also spread a little on the bottom where they slide on the rails?

What's a good grease to use? I have some Militec, Shooter's Choice, and Tetra.

I put a spot on the back of each lug then a dab on my finger and coat each lug lightly. I use Sinclair bolt grease, but anything you mentioned should work fine.
