45 colt non reloader

I have a ruger redhawk 4 inch 45 colt, beautiful gun, IMHO, but I don't reload and don't plan to anytime soon. I like it but it's too darn expensive to shoot. Should I trade it for something cheaper, (to shoot that is), or just sit on it till I can afford to buy reloading equipment. Is there a factory ammo source that might be more reasonable?

I bought lots of 'factory' reloads at the gun show. They are from the people selling all the reloading supplies, so they are fairly good prices. You can also get different loads and bullets. Be sure to keep your brass so you can reload in the future!!;)

I forgot to mention that all my revolvers are 45Colt. S&W 625 Mountain SS (older with firing pin in hammer), Ruger Old Model convertible, Ruger 5.5" Redhawk SS, and Ruger 5.5" Bisley SS.:D:D:D

If it weren't for GCA68, I'd offer to trade you, but unless you're in my state, that could be problematic.:)
95 bucks + a die set and you're ready to go for the price of a few boxes of ammo.

excellent bulk remanufactured products; as far as .45 Long Colt goes, you will need to buy a few boxes of factory stuff, shoot it, and mail it to them since .45 LC is done on a brass exchange basis;
I have fired their lswc's in .38 spl, .357 mag, .44 mag, and .44 spl; only a few cracked .357 mag Remington nickel-plated cases after shooting (nickel-plating makes reloaded brass a bit more brittle and they are prone to cracking at the end of their useful life)
I currently have 250 empty .45 LC cases that I am going to send in to them

If you shop around a bit, you can get the reloading hardware (press, dies, empty brass) for $100 or less. Simple single stage Lee loaders. (E-bay is your friend!)
I'm in the same boat as you, and that's what I just did. I figure once I load 150 rounds I'll have all the up-front costs recovered. PLUS ... I get better control over the loads.

I recommend against buying reloads at gun shows for the simple reason that you have no knowledge of the quality and usually won't know who did the reloading.
Instead, look around at the gun shows for good used reloading equipment, which is often very cheap and perfectly serviceable.
On reloading, I prefer to do my own. That way, if the gun blows up with a reload, I know the name of the SOB who goofed.

Keep it and save for a reloader. It is not going to get any cheaper to buy loaded ammo for any guns any longer. Reloaders get to shoot more.
