My Dad manages a small machine shop like. He builds, rebuilds, test all typs af cylinders and ect. He got me some made in switzerland (sp). They are good. I take them to work and get them calabrated about every 6 months. They are alwayse fine.

Hey 33rowdy, are you asking what caliber you should have a revolver cylinder drilled for? Not sure what you mean.

Very strange. If you look at the link before you come in here the thread was started by ChefJeff1 but his post doesn't show up.

The OP may not have posted anything but the thread title, and 33rowdy was first reply, so comes up as first post.
To the OP, if you want to know what to buy in a dial or digital caliper:
If you like nice tools to go along with your accuracy, Starret. Mitutoyo and Brown & Sharp are nice too.
If you just want something that will work well enough, any ol' thing made in China.
A Vernier caliper will measure to thousandths if you buy one for that purpose, (many are in hundreths), but you have to learn how to read it.
Most plastic calipers of any type are not as accurate as metal types, and I would avoid them.

I think this thread got clobbered in the database somehow. As it stands right now, it doesn't make much sense.
If the OP, whoever it was, would like to try again, please do.
