Okay my fellow gun nuts, help me identify two guns please.

1. The now defunct Walker, Texas Ranger show had Chuck Norris wielding a stainless steel automatic(finger firmly wrapped around the trigger in every episode). I contend it was a Taurus 100SS or 101SS. My friend says it was a Beretta 92 series. Which is it, or was it something else?

2. What's the gun used in the first of the infamous Tremors movies by Burt Gummer to finish off the monster that breaks into his basement? It's a old-school, double barrelled, side-by-side rifle with barrels the diameter of plumbing pipes.

1. I think Walker's early pistola was a Taurus PT92. Look to see if the safety is on the slide, if so, I'm wrong, its a Beretta. He went though a few different guns on that show and it was hard to keep up with what he had when.

1. I'm guessing a Taurus of some flavor but it did change. If he was really a Texas Ranger, and they carried similar gear to the border patrol (which they may not) I should be a Beretta but would have to have been refinished as I don't think they ever came in nickle.

2. They never say what it is and I'm guessing it's most likely a custom prop weapon since real double rifles cost into the 5 digits and it was a pretty low-budget flick.

Depends on the season of Walker you are referring to.

Early episodes he had a stag handled revolver in a cross draw holster.

Then went to a nickel PT92 as mentioned previously.

Last season or two was a S&W but not sure which one.

Never saw Tremors so no idea there.

Every close-up I've seen of Norris as Walker shows pretty clearly a frame-mounted safety. Taurus.

Because the Texas Rangers informed Norris they never carry revolvers crossdraw, and would he at least try to look like a Ranger.

The biggest firearm goof I ever saw on Walker was an M4 style AR with the collapsible stock on upside down, it's in that big display case of weapons that you always see when they are doing office scenes. The funniest thing was in later episodes there is a cop (i think) working with them in pretty much every episode that goes charging into any situation with just a little snub nosed .38 lol. Does anyone know what kind of weapon his partner carried? I think that is the only one I couldn't figure out, it's some sort of semi-auto but seemed to have a weird slide profile that I couldn't identify.

I believe it was one of those two... not sure which, but now that I am looking at the pics I want to say it was the Walther P5.

I don't think it was the HK, that does sort of look like it but I remember the slide being a lot more squared off instead of rounded. They show two episodes of the show every afternoon during the week on Hallmark channel I think, if I'm around this afternoon I'll try to get a better look.

I looked around some and it looks like the 8 bore was shooting something in the range of 1250 grains at 1500 fps. Ouch! Anybody want to figure the muzzle energy from that?

That's why they weighed 16 lbs or more. Go Burt! :)

At the end of the episode his crew presented him with a new Taurus ranger pimp gun

True, but what he loads are pretty clearly rifle rounds. When he is loading it he knocks the box over and you get a good look at them, he also refers to the gun as his "Elephant Gun" and I believe he or Reba even mentions the bullet weight at one point.

4 and 8 bore double rifles are just that, rifles, hence the term 'rifle'. They launch huge single projectiles like any other rifle. (And, of course, shot.)

Trivette definitely had either the Walther or H&K I posted for a long while... he carried it in a shoulder rig. He may have switched to a 226 later, but I quit watching after a few seasons as they were all the same. //situation requires lethal force, Chuck holsters sidearm and goes "ninja" on some hapless crook who also happens to be well versed in martial arts... end episode// I can overlook certain realities in hollywood... but when practcially every show ends the same way I will find something better to entertain me. :)

cal 1500 * 1500 * 1250 / 7000 / 32.16 / 2 = 6246 ft/lbs

(Ouch) i am not going to calculate the recoil energy

An 8 bore round ball would be 875 grains; 1250 gr must be a conical.
