I cannot find any SRP. Only SRM primers. What is your recommendation on lowering the charger of H4895?

The book I have calls fro Winchester Primers with a 75 grain AMAX. All I can find are CCI Magnum primers.

Thanks.

For safety's sake, I would back off 1 to 2 gr, then work back up if things appear normal.

I was feeling the same. I think I will back down 2, and work up.

Rule of thumb is back off 10%.

Winchester only makes one Sm Rifle primer type.
Unlike other companies, they do not make a Standard primer and a Magnum primer in Sm. Rifle size.

The Win WSR primer can be considered a Magnum primer, as it is hotter then other companies standard Sm Rifle primers.

Need further evidence it is a magnum type primer?
It is used by Winchester in their factory ball powder loads where everyone else calls for magnum primers with ball powder.

Thanks, RC and to others.

I have purchased a few thousand CCI 450 primers to use since that is all that I can find local, and there aren't any in cyberspace.

I plan to sub this primer with the Winchester load from Hornady for the 75 grain A-MAX and H4895.
