I had some fun the other day testing suppressors. Never mind the date on the video, I suffer from premature calenderation.

Very cool, thanks.

Are there any notable differences between the different brands in terms of function or efficacy? They all pretty much sound the same on the video.

That was cool. Decided a few years ago that I didn't need a suppressor now I want one again.

Nice video. I thought a .45 would be louder with a suppressor than it was. Thanks for sharing!

22. is still the quietest followed by the nine and 45. The 45 is the only one that needs to be shot wet. This makes it a bit messy. The 45 is much better suppressed than I expected it to be but not Hollywood quiet. The 22. is very fun and not much louder than a pellet rifle. All the cans foul the pistols faster than unsuppressed.

When you hear it in person, it's much different than in the video. The video can't accurately bring the sound to your ears, and isn't all that great for showing the relative sounds as most home video cameras try to equalize all the sound to avoid bad patches.

I see, thanks. Does it take out a lot of the bass-like "boom" or is that still the "filtering" of the video camera?

Wow...very nice.

I love how on a number of them, the sound of the casing bouncing off the table is louder than firing the silenced round...

Do you have any of a silenced vs unsilenced 308?

It's true that they are louder than you would hope, but these three cans are the best I've heard. I have no interest in this company but these cans among the best in the industry.

The AWC integral 77/22 is the quietest gun I've ever heard. It's beyond "Hollywood quiet" but the company's customer service needs improvement. These SWR suppressors are impressive compared to some I've heard. YMMV. My m11/9 is considerably louder only because of the open bolt configuration slapping.

What kind of ammo did you use? Was it factory? Very nice video. Makes me want a suppressor now.

I used Georgia Arms ammunition for the 9mm and 45 acp and CCI Mini Mag for the 22. The 9mm is 147 gr so its subsonic. The 45 is always subsonic. The Walther p22 uses a 3.5 inch bbl so it reduces most ammo to subsonic. I have to get the velocities to subsonic. Without subsonic rounds the suppressor is pointless.

I do not have any video of 308. I have heard 3 different suppressed 308 rifles shooting. As of now, I have never heard a suppressed 308 that would justify the expense for me.
