Would one (or more) of you folks that can please post a picture of your revolver wearing Jordan Grips? The picture at Herritts web site leaves alot
to be desired.I just put an M19 on layaway for next week and I think these stocks will work well with my large mitts.
Thanks,
John

I've handled some Jordan grips, and they are humongo. Too large for my big/not huge hands. Seemed like they would have been nice if my hands were bigger. If you've got really big mitts, prob'ly just the ticket.

Steve Herrett made most of Bill's personal grips, and they know how too do it even if they no longer catalog them. They are not necessarily "too large" because there were usually custom made to the customer's hand size. I'd give them a call and ask about it.

I bought a set of Herrett's grips a few years ago (not Jordans) and at that time, Herretts had you trace your hand on a piece of paper with the thumb and little finger sticking out. I assume Herretts use this to custom make the grip to the size of your particular paw. I still have and use the grips they made for me. Gripping that revolver is like shaking hands with an old friend. Quantrill

Quantrill:
Herrett's still makes stocks that way, and the quality is usually pretty good. Herrett's checkering isn't as fine and crisp as it was when Steve Herrett was still alive, and you don't always get the fit you expected, but they're still good stocks.
An old-timer explained to me quite a few years ago that grips are plastic or rubber, whereas stocks are wood or ivory or bone or antler.

Discussed the size of hands question with Herretts. They told me that they can and do make the Jordon Trouper stocks for smaller hands. And if you look at the Herret web sight, you'll notice that their current Jordan Troupers have a squared of bottom to the stocks. Whereas Bill Jordans grips were rounded at the bottom. They told me they will make them like Bills if you specify it when ordering them.
And yes they still have trace the shape of your hand ~and~ the frame of your gun when you order. The forms are on their web site.

Also true Jordan "stocks" are not checkered. If they fit your hand they don't need to be, and if during the draw the revolver isn't positioned right you can relax your hand and then squeeze again, and the gun will slide into the correct place. If you don't have one now you should get a copy of Bill's book, "No Second Place Winner," and it will fully explain the reason his grips were made the way they were.

I knew Bill Jordan slightly, and was able to handle his personal K-frame S&W's and a J-frame fitted with his grips.
His hands were certainly larger than mine, but I could have used his grips.
A friend had a set of Jordans made for his 6.5-inch barrellled S&W M29, and even with full .44 Magnum loads, recoil was handled very well indeed.
