Use the search, Luke.

The Saiga (in any chambering) is an overlooked jewel.

It has some pretty mean-looking horns.

I have the Saiga in 223 and a 308, and the Saiga 12...... the 223 is my favorite because of the accuracy and low recoil..... but I do like all of these alot!

My Saiga .223 just bagged me a nice javelina. Excellent rifles.

Thanks for the feedback. I've done a little research but I find the best info comes from those that have personal knowledge/experience in the real world.

Saiga 12, 7.62x39, .308 and .223. +1. Great buys. I've converted them all to US made AK pattern rifles.

www.dinzagarms.com has lots of good info about doing conversions and sells all the parts you'd need.

They are not too shabby stock, but removing their "wishbone" trigger kludge and putting in the Tapco G2 trigger makes them a whole lot better!

I converted my .308 Saiga last year. It was good out of the box but now it's awesome! I wish I had the cash to pickup one in 12 guage too.

saigas are great stuff, all the great reliability of the AK platform, plus some improvements, like chromelined barrels, etc. good stuff

but a deal too good to pass up came along not that long ago and I now am the very proud owner of a Saiga in 7.62x39. I wish I had bought a couple years ago when they were more affordable.

I've got the .223 and I like it a lot.
Be careful, these things really invite modification . . .

Here's my x39. Paid $300 OTD at a gun show two years ago, then put another $150 into the conversion. Flawless operation and everyone LOVES to shoot it. I actually like the factory handguard vs the traditional AK version, gives you more places for a hand hold. Just wish I could afford to feed it.
