Weird issue...

Have sorted my loads out... where except for the 8x60S (Have no accuracy expectations), am averaging sub .5 MOA and am now bored.

What caliber should I move to?
Wife is against me buying anything right now... given the global economic issues.
However might be able to swing a barrel for the savage + dies... and components.
Am leaning towards 6 BR.

Or just talk me out of it please...

It's obvious that you don't have enough guns in both rifle and handgun. Or you need to branch out and try new and improved bullets, powder, primers and cases.

I go with needing more guns...

Man, that sucks! LOL

Funny, as soon as I read new barrel, I thought 6 BR. I plan to go that way when I shoot a barrel out on one of mine. A 6 PPC would be great but a little trickier.

A smart man would consolidate his gains and upgrade what he has but that's not how I roll.

Afy, You've got tremendous potential with the Savage, and a wide selection of barrels to chose from. With the cost of components, maybe something as cheap or a little cheaper to shoot. Ya, something in a 6mm would be good.
You need to help stimulate the global economy.

Forget the new rifle or barrel, and put the money toward a nice hunt for something you won`t get a shot at everyday. A moose in the north or a trip in the mountians for goat perhaps

How about a Ruger Mini14/30/6.8. Trying to get this sumbitch to shoot should keep you occupied for a long time.

I'm doing something similar to keep things "interesting".
It only took me a week to work up a load for my .243 that'll hold .5 MOA.

When I put that rifle back in the safe with a "*** am i supposed to do now?" thought, i eyeballed the Mosin I had sitting in the corner.

Now THAT has been interesting to get dialed in. I have loads that are perfectly acceptable as hunting rounds, but I've still yet to break MOA with it. Close mind you, but the amount of effort to drop the last 1/4" (from 1.5" to 1.25") has taken twice the effort that it did to drop from 4" to 1.5".

Now I REALLY want to see what it'll take to shed the last 1/4" to 1" even. If I can pull that off, I'm going to declare this rifle "done", but it's been a helluva lot of fun in the meantime.

Ah well one only lives once.
Already simulated the economy with a purchase of a Mossberg Maverick... yes I know it is a cheapie version in the US not here. (500 Euros)
Plus with the rifled barrell it is the only legal way to get a pump action. The law is weird.

You might try casting slugs for the new shotgun, different powders, wads, etc.

See if you can get .5 out of it.

Is that .5 3 shots or 10??
A real man uses 10 shot groups.
Let us know when you are shooting 10 shot .5 moa groups at 100 yards.
Then you can join a benchrest club and win every match.

5 Shot groups... will try 10 shot groups. Dont expect it to be different, since I can get two consecutive .5 groups.

Try the .30-30. Preferably in a mod. 94.
