Full body or neck resizing?

I haven’t reloaded in about 10 years and even then my experience was very limited. I have about 80 30/06 cases once fired through my gun. Someone put 5 cases fired through their gun in my box of cases. I have no way of telling which cases are which. I don’t want to full length resize all of them because of 5 cases. Logic tells me that after resizing the necks as long as they can chamber in my gun they should be OK because full length resizing would only make the headspace shorter. I’m using the lightest starting load I could find using what I have on hand. I’m using 46gns. IMR 4064 with a 150gns Hornady SP. Am I right or is my logic flawed?

I myself would neck size a few and see what they do.
7th Edition Hornady stats with IMR 4064 44.2 start and 53.6 MAX with the 150 grain SP.

Thanks 33 rowdy.I really appreciate it. My reloading manuals are 10 years old as are my experiance and components. I really like the 44.2 load. The main reason I'm reloading is to find a lighter load for my rifle. I like the gun but as I get older I can't take the recoil. It kicks like a mule. And no I'm not a girly man.

Well if the main reason of reloading is recoil; I tried a pound of H414 and thought it was more pleasant than IMR 4064. I'm using the Hornady For your 5 unknown cases....I my self wouldn't let that bother me.
Load data for H414 is 48.5 start and 58.8 max.

Not necessarily, A properly set up FL die can leave the shoulder dimension in tact, decrease it or increase it.
If you do not want to FL size the whole batch, just neck size em, then check to see if they chamber before adding power/primer/bullets.

I hear ya. I had a Rem 700 in 30-06 with a plastic but plate that was a SOB to shoot.

Have you thought about a close look at the primer. Often you can tell what cases are from different guns by the indentation on the primer. I am assuming the cases are the same headstamp.

Why don't you just chamber all of them in your gun? Those that don't fit need more than neck sizing.
