I was looking for something else, but came across a PPS in .40 S&W. It felt good in my hand and I am willing to pay the price. Does anyone have any experience shooting this little powerhouse? I have fired sub-compact .40s before, but not this small. How is the recoil? I have fired a 2" .357 magnum. How does it compare to that?

I've got a PPS in both 9mm and .40S&W. Both are excellent guns. Both are more than managable as far as recoil goes -- no problems or issues or concerns of any sort to report, provided that you are used to handguns. The PPS is an easily concealable and surprisingly accurate pistol. Both of mine have been 100% reliable, and I've run a lot of rounds through them.

You might want to check out the Walther Forums for a detailed look at the PPS. Here's a link:

Good luck.

I ended up buying the PPS .40 S&W this morning. I haven't shot it yet because it was raining all day. But it carries great. I think I will be well pleased.

I'll wager that you will enjoy the new PPS a great deal. It's a fine carry gun, it's surprisingly accurate, and the .40S&W round is ample. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
