Does anyone know if a good discussion board/forum exists for German Luger owners? I've spent the last hour searching through websites returned by a Google search, but without much luck. I just got a 1917 DWM and need help. Any Luger forum members here?

There are a few luger owners on P38forum.com.

I own a 1915 Luger but I am no expert on them that is for sure.

Yes, they are not .45 ACPs powerwise, but they hold many more rounds (8 versus 14 average). Both are lethal with good shooting skills. Don't buy a double-action only pistol and your skills will increase with practice. Double-action triggers fight your ability to shoot accurately. cliffy

That was confusing!!! I'm going to assume that was an answer to "9mm Luger" rather than a P08 German Luger.

Most .45 ACP pistols are single-action, whilst many 9mm pistols are double-action only. Five pounds of trigger pull is generally more accurate than thirteen pounds of trigger pull. Single-action 9mm pistols can be as accurate as .45 ACPs. Don't buy double-action only pistols. If I had to be shot in the chest, I'd prefer it be from a 9mm than a .45 ACP pistol. Continued life expectancy from a .45 hit is not very great. 1911 Clones are nearly always single-action, ask before you buy. cliffy

There is something very much not right here...

cliffy, you sure you're responding to the right thread?

Cliffy, I think the thread is about actual Luger pistols and forums about the pistol, not the caliber.

This is where I went for info when I got my 1920 DWM Police Luger. There are many knowledgeable Luger collectors there, who answered all my questions and really helped me make a good choice when buying my first Luger.
