recently acquired a trap gun(autoloader)that everyone but i can shoot well. today's patterns showed my patterns to be 80-20 high but also 80-20 to the left; explains my s%&#y scores and my hits only being pieces off the left. my mid and front beads are alligned--will an adjustable comb help? or is this good money after bad? i hope there's an answer out there.

Does this happen to you with other shotguns?
Try shooting with your left eye closed, assuming you're right handed. I suspect eye/hand dominance probs...

dave it has happened with other shotguns. how about putting the comb to the corner of my mouth rather than my check? can a adjustable comb work? ron

Concur with Dave.
Being neither eyed and either handed was easy for me to try.
Shooting right handed but left eye dominating....impact to the left of aim.
Canting head to the right added a lot of elevation above point of aim.
Shooting left handed but right eye dominating...impact to the right of aim.
Canting head to the left added bunch of elevation over point of aim.
Methinks rjk is not seeing the rear bead. If a two bead sight picture is held on the target, it matters not which eye is used. But, on a long gun it is very hard to get a good two sight picture wrong eyed.

Take a piece of masking tape, maybe 1/8" square or a tad bigger and place it on your glasses on the lens opposite your gun shoulder. Right handed shooting would put the tape on the left lens. Adjust the position of the tape until you cannot close your right eye and see the beads of the shotgun barrel with the left eye that has the tape on the lens. Shoot a round of trap or some patterns at least. See what happens.
Having neither eye dominant is tough, but can be worked through. I have had some students that shoot GREAT with neither eye dominant but the training for it is different and specific.
If you have eye dominance issues the tape test will "fix" it. Then you will know what to go after.
