Hello everyone,

I received this Mauser as a gift from a great friend of mine a few years ago. It has never been fired. I was wondering if someone can give me some information based on what I attached.

Thank you :)

i think this is an FN mauser carbine. Many were made for columbia pre ww2. What calibre is it? However there are some real experts on here. they will know better

It's an FN Mauser. Note the markings on the sight, look Arabic, my guess is that the rifle was a contract piece for some Mid-Eastern country.

The markings on the sight appear to be the same as on Iranian rifles.

Does it have a crest on top of the receiver?

It is a FN k98 made in Belguim. The sight markings are cyrlic. The receiver crest should tell you for whom it was made. I had one almost the same except it was made for the Israeli army and was chambered in 7.62 NATO
