Recent trip to local gun shop turned up the Colt King Cobra - any info on this would be great. They also had a beautiful Python.

What kind of info are you looking for ?
It's a very well built double action Colt revolver that came in 2.5, 4, 6 & 8 inch barrel lengths. It was offered in Blue, Stainless & bright Stainless finishes.
It's no londer being produced and prices have been on the rise for the last 2 years.
For new in box guns, expect to pay $600-$1000 depending on location and finish.
Bright stainless seems to be the one topping the charts.
The blued finish follows that followed by the most common satin or brushed stainless.

I have a stainless King Cobra with 4" barrel I picked up new in '96, its is by far my favorite revolver. Never had any problems with it with well over 2,500 rounds through it and its pretty accurate. Only thing I've changed on it were the grips, put a Hogue on it. Great gun
