Please hit this poll. Be sure to "copy and paste" it to your browser so they can't tell it came from a guns forum.
This is the school system that educated my daughter and also myself.
Thanks!!!!

"At 5 years old, anytime you tell a child not to touch something, that's exactly what they do. It's in their nature to be curious and to touch and handle things," said Howe.

Genius mom of the year that one.....

So if you tell a 5 year old not to talk to strangers does that make them want to go have a cheeseburger with every stranger they see?

That's just stupid.

"Having pictures of guns that children color in I think is sending the wrong message," said Howe.

What does that statement even MEAN?
Like, more children are accidentally killed by drowning each year than by firearms (source: CDC), so what if we had a coloring book on pool safety? Would having pictures of deadly swimming pools that kids color be sending "the wrong message"?

Those kids are lucky to have a NRA coloring book, all I had as a kid was a Harley-Davidson coloring book. :D

Unfortunately some people, sometimes I think the majority of people, are conditioned to respond a certain way to certain situations. Anything gun related pertaining to children is like the bell in Pavlov's lab causing normally intelligent people to stop thinking and start reacting.

Orwell was a prophet.

My kids were both shooting .22s at five years old. When the apocalypse comes, people like this lady will be trampled by those with purpose, focus and courage. She had my sympathy for a minute. No more.

Garland school officials say the safety curriculum is 10 years old and this is the first complaint the district has received since it began.

That's because Howe was a teenager when they started teaching it. I'm sure if they'd asked her, she'd have said no then, and that would have been the end of it.

Seriously, how is this NEWS? Its sensationalist bullcrap that the news stations have no business airing.

Make sure to hit the poll near the story. We're winning with 83%, but it could be more...

"Gun ownership, control and safety are hot topics as well. It just simply has no place in our school systems," said Howe.

Bit I bet this retard has no problem with free condoms, or having a frank discussion on abortion, drugs, or smoking in our school systems.

Would a coloring book on global warming make her 5 year old pollute more?

We're winning with 83%, but it could be more...

If someone won an election with 83% of the votes, it would be considered a landslide victory. Since we're talking about firearms here, 83% may well translate into something like, "a vocal few".

This lady has, in all likelihood, never bothered to actually look at what "Eddie Eagle" actually does. It reminds me of the guy who called Eddie "Joe Camel with feathers."

This is one of those mothers who says she doesn't want her kids even THINKING about guns (hence the reason she flips out at them seeing a drawing). Yes, she's an idiot but this story was great publicity for gun safety and her behavior makes her appear irrational in the story. Publicizing a mother's irrational behavior in a mainstream media source will ONLY cause people to see what a buffoon she is, and will only validate our points. Kudos to the the station for running this AND for making a poll where we could stomp idiocy.

EDIT: I just watched the video on the news story and woa, this lady is a mental mess. The tongue piercing just ADDS to her credibility http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/7144/lollj3.gif I also loved how the daughter has this "whatever mom" look on her face the entire time :D

Bottom line, this lady could not possibly come off looking worse after people see this. She couldn't possibly come off appearing more irrational. She does us a big favor by opening her mouth.

....however Ms. Howe was "delighted when the same school taught my son how to use a condom, and that my having a live-in lesbian lover is a normal and acceptable lifestyle."
