Frontier brass-any good

I recently came across a deal on some 223 brass with a headstamp that reads "Frontier". Has anyone used this? Any pro's or con's?

I think Frontier brass is used by Hornady. I've used it for .30-06 without any problems.

I think that frontier brass is a division or a subsidary of Hornady. I got soem of this brass out of a box of Custom SST loads for a .300 win. I have yet to reload those casings but from what I hear it is almost identicle to hornady brass.

yes it's good. I have some .45acp brass w/that hs. good stuff.

Frontier is the worst brass on the market (I'm running out of my stock)...If you are having a problem disposing of it let me know and I'll take it off your hands and save you the work of disposing of it...

I've got a bunch of .44 mag brass marked TEXAS. Anybody ever heard of that brand? Seems like good stuff, from what I can tell.

Frontier is the best for my .303 brit. by far. Remmington is the worst. I have not seen frontier brass in a long time.

If I recall correctly, Frontier was marketed by Hornady but manufactured by Federal.
Federal has never been a slouch in the case-making department.
If it's made by Federal, it's good stuff. I think most experienced reloaders would agree with that blanket statement.
I don't believe Frontier brass has been made since the 1980s or early 1990s. If you have the original cardboard boxes don't throw them away; they have a little collector value. Even if they don't have much value now, they will still be good conversation pieces:

I have quite a bit of Frontier HS brass in 22-250, 243, 270 and always looking to pick up some more. This is good stuff.

I have a few Frontier .357 cases, and they are holding up fine.

Hornady/Frontier used to have brass made by Rem and Win with their headstamp. Federal has been a slouch in making brass of late, and I am sure that Federal was never a supplier of brass to Hornady. Federal brass is soft, especially rifle brass. The primer pockets expand and the case webs are thin in the 223.

The Texas headstamped brass is Starline, I am pretty certain that Midway had the brass made up and was selling in the early to mid 90's.

Good stuff. Use it and be happy.

After doing some research I found that there is also some .45 ACP with Texas head stamps. I would love to get some of it for gift and conversation value. Rondog, hang onto it. If its not worth something now it will be eventually to collectors. It seems that texasammo is out of business. Does anyone know of any that might be available? If it was available in different calibers, then dummy rounds would make great gifts to those of the Texas persuasion.:)

I believe your wrong. All of the Hornady .308 I have is headstamped FRONTIER. Same for a couple of years now, I was curious so I cracked open a couple of new boxes, same headstamp.

Some .223 range brass I got in the other day was all LC 08, FC 08 with a few Frontier mixed in, it looks new as well.

Federal brass can be really tricky stuff, I've got some that was marked FC .223 rem that was junk. Some other stuff that is marked FC O8 appears to be quality stuff, measures same as LC brass and has been lasting very well for .223 brass.
