Proud owner of a Glock 30. I purchased it from a gunshow in Denton, TX last weekend. Only got to the range once with it, has 55 rounds through it.

I have a 30,27,and a 19. I enjoy shooting the 19 the most, because of low recoil, and cheap ammo.Owning Glocks is like owning a .380,everybody has them, but nobody admits it.

Interesting 1st picture on this thread, I've never seen an X-rayed Glock. But why didn't the trigger show?

Just a Glock 26 in my stable so far. Its a great gun and an edc for me. The 10+1 capacity in a relatively small gun along with its reliability and simplicity, well there's not much more to say!

Glock 19 and Glock 22, both 2nd Generation.

I bought my Glock 22 new, one of the first ones available. The Glock 19 is an ex-VA Beach Sheriff's Dept gun from Summit Gun Broker. Has the VABSD logo on the slide.

The Glock 19 is sitting on my nightstand right now and will go with me when I go out today.

It's not all of them, but it's what fit well in a circle. I've bought a lot of guns that disappointed me for one reason or another. Many of them were quite expensive, I've never been disappointed by a Glock.

I love pulling out a couple of Colt SAA's and playing, but I carry Glocks.

I'm in, bought a 27 last February, didn't like Glocks at all before I bought it, didn't like them after I bought it either until I had it for about three months and started to get the hang of shooting a subcompact, and learned the way of the reset. I ordered a 23 in September to go with it, I guess you could say the 27 really won me over in a big way.

Now I definitely respect Glocks for their strengths, a great trigger IMO, extremely consistent manufacturing, one of the best treatments/finishes available, there are less bulky guns, but for the size, capacity, and caliber, they are very tough to beat. And my 27 is more accurate than it should be as well.

1st Gen 19 and 3rd Gen 26. Tuned with the same trigger pull. 19 has the CT grip laser; 26 has the factory Tritium sights. They're both great guns. I've had the 19 longer than any other gun in my collection.

I bought my first Glock which is a Glock 19 back in March of 2007. Before that I was still relatively new to guns, and at first I really didn't care for Glocks because they looked so plain and boring, and I liked the XD better so I bought an XD9 as my first quality semi-auto pistol. Then I learned that Springfield Armory did not sell replacement parts individually and that I would have to send my entire gun to them to be fixed if and when the need came up. I don't like the idea of sending my guns through the mail system. Then I started doing some research on different guns and came upon Glock again, because I found out they are easy to strip down and fix. At first I was like :barf: but then I realized that it doesn't really matter what the gun looks like, as long as it goes bang and feeds reliably with every pull of the trigger. I learned that the majority of law enforcement agencies use Glock pistols and that was the selling point for me to get a Glock in 9mm, if cops use them, they have to be good! I went down to my local gun shop and fondled the G26 and G19. I walked out with a big grin on my face and a G19 in my right hand. I then used that gun to qualify for my CCW permit and the gun shot better than me. I knew right then Glock rocks, and a year later bought a G26 and G17, but ended up selling the 17.

Anyway that is my little tale of how I became a Glock owner.

19, 26, 29.

19 has 12,000+ rounds.
26 has ~1000 and is carried daily.
29 is the newest and has ~300 rounds. Would have more if I could find and afford ammo.

WOW! Im still saving up to buy my first gun and some of you have like 10 glocks alone! When I took my CCW class last week the instructor told us a good way to decide what gun to get is to call out local police department to see what they use. I actually ended up calling five police departments in two different states, and Glock 9mm was standard issue for all of them. The glock 26 is forth on my list of guns im considering, maybe I should bump it up.

Yeah, I'm happy with how it turned out. The work was done by Robar Guns (http://www.robarguns.com/glock.htm). In addition to the grip texturing they removed the finger grooves and undercut the trigger guard for a higher grip. It fits my hand better now and I too think the texturizing turned out nice.

My dad swears by his G27 (.40S&W-- not sure what Gen, but he bought it just before everyone started using/talking about Glock).

He keeps trying to get me into Glock, but I'm having a hard time making the transition. I enjoy shooting his (I even have dreams about it..) but I prefer full steel/hard metal framed handguns.

So does anyone have any suggestions for getting over my polymer-phobia?

So does anyone have any suggestions for getting over my polymer-phobia?
IMO, the shootist of this day and age does him/her self a disservice by not being competent with at least some type of polymer (for a better word) framed firearm. I find polymer framed firearms have quirks and idiosyncrasies in their feel and operation that are often best learned through the intimacy of ownership. It's one thing to rent/try one at a range and another to carry, clean, detail strip, dry fire, practice handling drills, etc. with one's own firearm.

....or it never hurts to have something different in the collection:)

Greg
