I have an uncle in Canada wanting to buy some frames from Federal Ordnance. Does anyone know if they're still around & how to find them? He was mentioning they were in Los Angeles.
Any help would be appreciated

I believe Federal Ordnance went out of business quite some time ago.

Got the info from a board on M1-A's as I have one with a FO receiver.

The FO M14 frames were horrendously crude and out of spec. I can't imagine wanting any products by those people.

Thanks for the heads up on them.

Yeah, I've always heard that. I have no complaints about mine whatsoever. I actually heard that QC was very spotty. Maybe I got a good 'spot'. I shoot it a good bit and it shoots really quite well. Fit and finish looks to be as good as on my DCM M1 made during the Korean war. May have problems down the road. If so, guess I'll have it replaced then.

Fed Ord had a poor reputation and many of their products looked crudely machined. I have always wanted a M-14/M-1A, but am chronically short on funding. I looked at Fed Ord, decided against buying. Looked at Norinco, decided against buying. Still can't afford a Springfield, stuck with a surplus M-1.

Tell uncle to stay away from Federal Ordnance. They're the "spark 'n chips" boys and quality was only found in their dictionary. It was junk and their going under was a blessing to the gunowners of America.

I know from firsthand experience of buying Fed. Ord aftermarket products and from working on a Fed. Ord M-14. Good for non-working replicas & movie props, not shooters.

I've never been very impressed with their quality...
