I want to start reloading for my 30-06, but i am wondering, which kind of bullet should I use? With all these boat tails, core lockeds, and accubonds, i am not sure what to get. I just need a good bullet to go to the range with, and I am only shooting 300yrds and under.

any help would be most appreciated

If you are new to reloading I suggest you start with basic inexpensive bullets. As your knowledge and skill increase you will have a better understanding of what will work the best for you. Practice with inexpensive components at least till you get the basics down pat....most here will tell you that shooter skill and accuracy along with bullet placement are much more important than bullet type @ ranges under 300 yards. Unless you are loading for bear defense, then things may get ugly.:D

Speer, Sierra, Nosler, Hornady all make good stuff. Go to Midway's site, or MidSouth, and compare prices and buy some of the reasonably priced ones, no sense paying extra for target practice.

The more expensive bullets are primarily for performance on game.
