I looked around but I could not really find out anything except they are earlier models that have been re-worked?

Is there anything specifically special about them?

Similar to the more common 91/30 rifle, they feature a hexagonal front receiver ring and a non-hooded barlycorn post front sight as well as a rear sight graduated in Arshins instead of meters.

The Dragoon rifle was the carbine version of the Mosin M91 long rifle.

The ex-dragoon has the hooded sight, it isnt much different from any other 91/30, but it once was...

Ive noticed my ex-dragoon to be my most accurate mosin, but i also dont own any finns.

That, and the history is nice.

If you have a rebuilt Dragoon rifle with the hooded front sight, it should also have a 91/30 meter graduated rear sight also.

better made than the ww2 made guns because they were made during peace time not as many machine marks ,hex receiver .dont forget during ww2 the Russians were trying to produce weapons fast as the could .so basically more aesthetically pleasing, although some claim the ex dragoons have a tighter bore (meaning better machined) i cant confirm or deny this .There is a down side to the ex dragoons because of the low wall receiver (the scallop cut on the left side of the receiver) U cant mount a PU scope on a ex dragoon u have to use a scout style mount or a PE scope mount .
