I have a S&W 638 and can not figure out which exact make of the Galco Ankle Gloves to get for it. the best i can figure is the the one for the 442. Would that one be the best fit or would another model fit it better. I plan to get the one with the thumb strap unless someone can convice why I shouldnt. thankx

I have an Ankle Glove for the J frame, though I don't actually use it. A 638 is my regular carry weapon. I just checked it in the Ankle Glove and it fits fine. The thumb snap actually goes over the upper part of the back strap, so it works equally well on hammered, hammerless or shrouded hammer revolvers.

Edited to add: You won't be able to use grips that cover the backstrap with this rig. They add enough bulk in that area to keep the snap from closing.
