New Remington "safe" safety?

Ok,
So I may pick up a new 870 Express HD 7 shot this weekend. However, can the new Remmy "safe" safety be removed and replaced with a Vang or Wilson "big" safety?

I replaced the PC locking safety on my 870 with a Wilson safety w/no problems.
