On May 3, 2003 I applied with nara.gov for a copy of my DD-214. I called them yesterday about my application...after all it had only been five months. The cheerful lady told me I should have it in three or four weeks.

A recruiter could get it for you in a week.

Byron,

In the last 5 months you could have shot in a dozen qualifier matches, had lots'a fun doin' it, and been done with the whole issue...

(and don't try to tell me that there is no competitive shooting in Georgia.... I know better) :D

Just my thoughts on the subject..... ;)

Interesting. When I got out of the Army in '58, I took my 214 down to the courthouse and recorded it; hadn't thought about that in eons. :) I still have the original in my files. (Dunno how I've managed to avoid losing it, all these years.) It's come in handy, a time or two...

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, no one is shooting matches during the week and I work weekends.
