Traditions is just an importer, they import pietta and uberti pistols. Each importer/resaler picks through their shipments in different ways looking for QC issues. For instance you can buy a Traditions Uberti, a name brand Uberti from Cabelas, or a Cimmarron Uberti. Cimmarron is super picky and thus you pay more than for the Cabelas Uberti, but can avoid little problems like fit and finish.
Frankly, the quality amongst the Italian makers is so uniform anymore, comparison doesn't do much but give us something to debate on the web.
There are several big box stores that carry Traditions guns. Go in hold it, feel it, inspect it, and if you like it go for it.
