Wondering why Beretta has yet to introduce a pump-action shotgun. Seems like that's the only common firearm type not offered by them. Thoughts on this.

Why crowd a crowded market. Is there a demand for another slide-action shotgun?

If no demand, why reduce the image of the line with a slide-action???

Why crowd a crowded market.

Hmmm..didn't stop them from putting thier name on a Uberti SA revolver and introducing another SAA clone into that already overflowing category. How many different 1911makes/models are there?

why reduce the image of the line

Oh and the Neos really made the classic Beretta name a standout.:p

FWIW: Beretta has sold pump-actions in Europe.

BlkHwk, yes, but SASS has made that market grow. So why not get a piece of it.

Slide-actions in America are utilitarian. Why drag down their image with that?

It does in a manner of speaking -- the Benelli Nova.

Benelli is part of the Beretta Group, like Uberti, Franchi, Sako and other companies Beretta has acquired over the years.

At one time, Beretta marketed a pump in the US. Similar in looks to the Ithaca 37, it had a shiny plated receiver, plain or vent rib barrel and sank without a trace. IIRC, it cost about $300 at a time when a new WM ran $200.

I saw ONE. It was in the custody of an LEO who had kept it after a raid.

If there's anything the US does better than the gang in Brescia is produce top quality pumps for prices the average guy can afford. And pumpguns are uniquely American, worldwide folks go for autos or doubles. With a limited global market for pumps and 3 shifts working to produce their doubles and autos to keep up with the demand, Beretta has gone with its strong points.
