I have now put several hundred more rounds of all types through Remington Competiton Master. No more stoppages since switching to Remington ammunition. Initially I had a failure or two with lightly loaded ammo from Winchester, but I had the same failure with some mid-range ammo from Winchester, so I switched. The gun works fine with the entire range of Remington - light, medium, express, buck, slugs. It also works fine with any brand of buck and slugs. I really like the way it feels and balances. It is heavy with eight shells loaded, but it still balances well and sights nicely.

edited to add: It's possible the initial failures were just the gun needing a little break in period. I'll try the light Winchester ammo again in a few days.

Thanks for posting, I know lots of folks are interested in this model. Go another few hundred rounds before trying the Remstuff again, just to be sure.

Do you think the carrier assembly on the Competition 1100 can replace the carrier assembly on the 11-87? I want to put that oversized button on a 1187.

Thanks,
