Israel attacks Syria, UN Security Council called

About damned time as far as I'm concerned. Syria has been sponsoring attacks on Israel for years. They train these clowns to go kill, not soldiers and military personnel or attack military facilities, but civilians who are trying to live peaceful lives.
The most recent attack has everyone over there up in arms because the bomber went to a place that is renowned for the peaceful coexistence of Israelis and Arabs. The resultant slaughter included numerous Arabs as well as Israelis.
Everyone b-----s and moans about Israel attacking people who have no army with which to protect themselves. Well, now they are going after a militarized dictatorial regime and everyone is still all s---faced over it.
The UN has called an emergency session of the Security Council on a Sunday. When's the last time that happened? What we are witnessing, I believe, is the SHTF scenario we have all been waiting for.
Armageddon? I don't think so. But it could be, if war is declared, that the very existence of Israel will hang in the balance. I really, really, really hope I am wrong.

It has to come to a head some time!
The nice thing is that we are in Iraq, on the opposite side of Syria. What are they gonna do besides whine?
I think we should go in and show our support by bombing some other terrorist outfits in Syria. Let them know what it feels like to be a target.

After 9/11 and Afghanistan, Syria got real serious about getting out of the terror business because they believe Bush when he stated your either on our side or the terrorists side. Thanks to the constant undermining of the President and his actions in the media and dumocratic party, they once again felt safe to start playing the game again.
Perhaps another dose of fear will help them get on one side of the fence or the other and stay there. I believe that Israel was completely justified in their attack. Negotiations and concessions will not stop these idiots from blowing up their citizens. You either scare them enough they don't mess with you or you kill them.

It's about time.
And the U.S. has refused to condemn Israel- more or less said "good move".
"Washington urged both sides to show restraint -- but added pointed criticism of Syria , saying Damascus "must cease harboring terrorists and make a clean break from those responsible for planning and directing terrorist action from Syrian soil."
And with Iraq taken out it will make things much easier.
I've said it before- IMHO the only peace in the Mideast for Israel will be peace through victory.

Any undermining of the WoT is due to the Bush administration's bungling of both national and international policy. Some democrats might want to take credit, but it's not theirs.

Since when does the UN "do" anything? There will be "condemnation", followed by "strong condemnation", then Pres. Bush will chirp about how this is "not helpful" to the "peace process".
But, now, this is where it gets interesting. The script says that Israel now backs off the "not helpful" "condemned" activity (i.e. the missle strikes on Hamas leaders).
But what if they don't? Bombing Syria is a whole new level of the Palestinian conflict, and 19 dead (IIRC) is one of the most deadly suicide bombing attacks yet.
So its possible that Israel may be playing for keeps this time; none of that "new leadership for the PA, Arafat not in charge anymore" nonsense...

The Syrians have the unbelieveable lack of class to call today's meeting at the U.N. on the eve of the Jewish equivalent of Christmas, Yom Kippur.
Talk about adding insult to injury! My father-in-law grew up in Israel...he says the only thing that the enemies of Israel repect is strength, so the Syrians are deluding themselves if they think that Israel will back-off...on the contrary, Syria may become the next Hiroshima.

Syria has been an Islamic terrorist state for decades.
To date, we've done precisely nothing about it.

Israel bombed a terrorist training camp in Syria?
Well! If they continue with this policy perhaps some progress will finally be made in Israel's fight for survival.
A special session of the security council? So what else is new?
The Israeli UN ambassador compared this action by Syria to Bin Laden calling a special session of the security council after 9/11!
I hope and pray that Israel finally starts doing what is really necessary to protect her citizens from these barbarians.
If she doesn't, then I hope and pray that her corrupt secular government, --likud is not much better than labor -- gets replaced by a "right-wing, religious fanatic" government who will know what to do to protect Israel.
I read that there are beginning to be rumblings about this.
A government that does not protect its citizens forfeits its right to govern.
