I gave in and joined the "Obama Panic" yesterday. ;)
I called Classic Arms down in North Carolina and ordered a CZ-82 pistol. I'd been wanting a smaller carry gun than the Colt Commander I carry most of the time, and I suspect the CZ-will do the job. With 12 rounds of 9x18 Makarov (and one up the pipe of course), and a spare magazine, it should anyway.
I'm not sure how long it will take to get here. I had to mail them a current copy of my C&R license before they can ship it but it shouldn't be too long.
No pictures of course, but I borrowed this one from the Classic Arms website. Not a bad package for less than $200.00 (shipping not included) it seems to me.

(Yea, yea... I know. Someone could have got it cheaper somewhere else. This is the internet after all :neener:.)

Very cool. I'm a big 9x18 fan ever since I briefly owned a Polish P64. It was a great little carry gun. My Glock 19 seems huge by comparison. That CZ looks really cool. Do the dimensions compare to the P64, Hungarian FEG, Makarov, etc?

i think the cz82 is a little bigger than the mak or feg or p64. great little gun though. I kind of regret selling mine.

Here's a nice review I ran across with the CZ-82:

Obama Panic indeed. One of the largest safe retailers in South Florida says he has never been busier in his career than he is now.

The CZ-82 is a remarkable value in today's market. Mine came to me as a military surplus pistol with two mags, lanyard, cleaning rod and military holster. The pistol and every bit appears to be new and unissued.
The newest lot are, I believe, ex-police pistols and are obviously used but in excellent condition from all I can see. I do like the holster your pistol will come with. It's certainly a more practical holster than the military version and quality should be top drawer.
I own Makarov pistols and like them but the CZ-82 is a better design IMO and the 12 round mags work beautifully.

awesome!
I think it was a good decision. I've heard rumors around the internet that CZ's will be getting a 6-10% price increase sometime early this year... good news for anyone who already has them

Today, I bought a lever action 22 Henry....
Not because of the OBAMA-PANIC, but mostly because I didn't have a good .22 LR rifle and Academy is virtually out of everything, so I got what they had.
I am going to get a CZ-82 if they hold out...

I was out shopping myself today. All of the shops I was in were packed. People were buying like crazy. I did my part to stimulate the economy and picked up a S&W MP9L.

The CZ 82 is nice, but I still prefer Pistolet Makarova!!

I had a Bulgie Mak too, and it was a good little gun. Someone offered me enough for it that I coldn't say no so I found myself with a couple hundred rounds of 9x18 ammo and no gun for it. So I had to "do something." :D
Why not give the ammo to the guy who bought the gun? Well then I wouldn't have an excuse to buy another gun. :neener:
