I have had great success/satisfaction in the past with APW/Cogan. They are now in Alabama - google them.

Since you are talking only a slide, this is $65 to $75 bare/complete, and cheap to ship. If you are really in a hurry, you can do a job at home for very little money in a short while:

Yes it does work and the type of water used is very important tap water can leave spots. Also cleaning the parts is important you want no oil of any kind on the parts before putting them in the salt bath, also make sure their are no cooper or aluminum parts going into the salts because they won't be there when they come out. After they come out of the salts, rinse the parts and get into all the crevices with the rinse, spray them down heavily with WD-40 let them hang for an hour or so. If you don't get the rinse into all the openings you may get some white powdery scale later from the salts. Keep a bottle of vinegar on hand in case you get some of the steam vapor from the process on you, it stops the burning right away. Temperature is very important.

myself included, are set up to the bluing.

And for just the slide 70.00 for the and return shipping suits me fine.

HOW do you want it to look, all matte, shiney flats with the round surfaces matted, all shiney?
