For all my Portland area friends: If I drive down to Memaloose Rd. on Monday to go shooting, am I going to encounter snow? I only have my GF's Jetta, so if there's snow on the ground or in the forecast, I probably won't do it. I'd love to otherwise.

Anyone been up there recently, or knows the terrain this time of year?

Thanks,
Josh

Ok I need some help, I go up the area of Wildcat mountain quite often and have looked for the elusive memaloose RD and have NEVER found it. Could somebody give me directions? I was up on Wildcat Mountain DR last weekend and most areas were posted no target shooting. I assume that this is because so many people have left junk around so the county finally shut it down. Could somebody post directions to Memaloose.

I checked out both Memaloose and Wildcat Mt. earlier this week (Tuesday) At that time you could still reach most of the pits on Memaloose. the gravel pit was not reachable in my rig.
Snow has dropped to below 700 ft. since then and we are expecting snow in the area on both Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

You have to go pretty far up on Wildcat to find shooting areas. This time of year without a snowmachine you are pretty much out of luck.

Memaloose rd. is just outside of Estecada Or., Highway 224 I believe. There are signs along the roadway and it is the first major bridge on your right hand side

I heard the Browns camp has been recently re-opened for shooting as well.

One more thought, Most likely the snow will limit your access but there is also Lolo Pass Rd. up of off hwy 26.
