Bought a Star BM 9mm, its not extracting.

Pretty sure that my Star 9mm is not extracting because the spring for the extractor is too weak. I have tried to run different kinds of rounds through and it does the same thing. Slide cycles back, doesnt eject the spent cartridge, the trys to strip a fresh round off the mag. But it cant since the spent cartridge is still in the chamber. When I cycle the gun manually it works just fine. SO I am thinking that the spring is too weak for the force that a fired round causes during the cycle.
I am now looking for anywhere online that might have these little springs. Thanks for any help.

Hello. You might check at www.gunsprings.com, but I don't think they make springs for the BM. However, it is possible that they have other extractor springs that will work. Worth a try, maybe.
Best.

Also check the chamber. When you fire the pistol the cartridge case expands against the chamber walls. If the chamber is fouled, rough or corroaded (not to mention out of round) this could cause your problem.
When you hand-eject a cartridge or case it is not expanded and gripping the chamber walls while under pressure. That being the "case" (pardon the pun) you don't have a problem.

As a temporary measure try stretching the spring that's there a little bit.
