I saw a Beretta 92 Compact at my local shop the other day. The trigger is smoother than anything I have ever felt. Finish is about 95%. They want $350.00 for it with only 1 magazine.
What are the opinions out there on this? I like it but am concerned about the availability of magazines etc.

I wish I was you, I'd snap it up, but your concern about mags is an issue. Someone here on THR must have a source.

One of my buds in the Army had one. Still to this day the only one I have ever seen. It shot really nice like a normal 92 but was a lot easier to carry.

It is a great pistol and at $350, it is a steal! Assuming that you're looking at the double-stack magazine model, and not the 8-rd "M" compact, the magazines are still very affordable.
CDNN has these mags for twenty bucks, brand new. Get a bunch, as the gun has been out of production for years, and I doubt that Beretta will make any more mags for it.

Also the full size magazines works fine in the compact. The compact is what my department issued the narcs in the late 80's the full size was given to swat. After awhile i got a few full size mags to carry as my reload. Really the compact is not not much smaller then the full size. Beretta make it to complied with what the military wanted which was a full size weapon and a compact of the same type to be issued to flight crew, females LEO and things like that. Then they began buying sigs for that think it was called the m-10 which was a p228 and beretta stop making the compact. At least that how I remember reading about it.

92F compact is a great gun. Had one for a while when I carried the full size. Not a bigs savings in size, but decent gun all the same - never a problem.
