Enemies foreign and domestic

I finished the book yesterday. It was a good read and kept me interested till the end. Speaking of the end, It ticked me off!:fire: But, so did the middle and beginning. Character and situation development was good.... sometimes too.
The storyline was focused, as opposed to UC, which meandered hither and yon... not that there is anything wrong with that!:D
Matt, is your next book gonna pick up where enemies left off?
Edited to add: Tom Broker et al?! :D :neener: funny stuff!

I too want to say thanks Matt.
I got mine about a week ago, and in less than 24 hours had it finished. That includes 8 hours of sleeps. How long is the wait for the sequel:D

Glad you liked it!
I know the ending is rough, but a dark tale like Enemies can't end with a happily ever after.
The sequal to EFAD will be called "Domestic Enemies," and it will take place 5 years after, or about 2010. American cities will resemble Beirut after years of dirty war and ethnic urban warfare. Radical Aztlan/MEChA types take over "Nuevo Mexico" and plunge it into a Kosovo-style civil war. The female protagonist from EFAD is dragged into the middle of this ethnic warfare.
EFAD took me 3 years to write, but I hope I can write Domestic Enemies more quickly!

As a side note... one of the highlights of EFAD for me was the paragraph or so about Michael Moore... oh wait... my mistake... his name doesn't appear anywhere in the book.

LOL. I’m curious as to why you would say this. Was there a character by the name of ‘Scrotum Face’ in the book? You’ve piqued my curiosity to the point where I’m going to have to buy a copy.:D

submin: no, not that particular name. You have to read the book, but you'll catch the reference.

I found a news article that parallels some of the govt ideals in the book. But Mouwafak al-Rabii, a Shiite Muslim member of the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council, said the United States must speed up the training of Iraqi police and soldiers and employ ruthless measures to crush the insurgency.
"There is no doubt about it that we need to change the rules of engagement with these people," al-Rabii told CNN. "The rules of engagement now are too lenient."The News Article (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=3&u=/ap/iraq)
