Help! Need Parts

I have what I believe may be a Navy Arms Griswold & Gunnison, made by Uberti in 1967. It has a broken hand spring, and the hammer notches are worn out. Where can I find these parts? I am wondering if the 1851 colt parts will work as it looks the same except for the barrel.

Any info you can give would be great.

Check with VTI Gun Parts. You can e-mail them your query and see if they can help. They have always been good to deal with IMHO

I have seen they're website, but didn't even see an 1851 uberti listed. I will give them a call and see what they can do. Can anyone give me any information on this gun?

I just sold one about a month ago. Great gun. Try contacting Navy Arms - most likely they'll direct you to VTI.

On the VTI site, select the Uberti 1860 Army; the action parts you need (item 2, hammer and item 7, hand/spring assembly) are interchangeable with the 1851 Navy (you will notice in the parts listing for each part that the 1851 is specified).

Also try Dixie Gun Works.

vti hammer=47.00
DGW=16.00
vti hand=17.00
DGW hand=6.00

I've always ordered from DGW because of the price difference. The DGW parts have always been of good quality and required minimal fitting, if any.

I saw those prices at Dixie and will be making an order tomorrow. The gun isn't shootable anymore, as my grandfather bought it new in 1967 and has shot this gun to death. The brass frame is stretched pretty badly, the arbor wobbles in the frame, and the cylinder slides back and forth at least a 1/16th inch.I just want it to work properly because, as my wife says, I have firearm OCD.

Youll like dixie if you've never ordered from them before. I ordered a front sight and hand/spring assembly for my navy. Ordered it on a wednsday and got it friday. Only complaint was the amount of fitting I had to do, but to be fair my gun was some sorta kit so nothing fit right.

Just about all replacement parts well require some fitting, if I can do it with files and stones that's minor. If I have to walk out to the shop and use the mill or lathe that's more like work.
