I recently got a colt 22 for my dad. He loves it but it came with out box or papers and im having a hard time finding a takedown guide for it.
the colt cadet / colt first edition / colt 22 are the same gun if any one could point me in a direction for buying or downloading that would be great.
thanx for the help

The Beretta Nova and High Standard Dura-Matic are also basically the same gun. (Colt first called the gun the Cadet, then found out Iver Johnson had the rights to that name, which it used on a little .22 revolver.)

To field strip, make sure the gun is unloaded and remove the magazine. Then lock the slide back, unscrew the barrel nut, remove the barrel, then let the slide come to the firing position, pull the trigger, and let the slide come forward off the frame. Do not remove the striker sleeve or lose the springs.

Further disassembly is NOT recommended.

Hey there,

Would you be willing to sell your Colt? I have been trying to get my hands on one of these for years! so I just had to ask...

Thanks!

I just got one for $300, perfect condition. I don't care much for takedown that requires tools but my NRA takedown book shows several target type 22s that work that way.
