I emailed the office of my US Congressman regarding my concerns with the future of our RTKBA. Here is the respnse that I recieved in return:

Dear Friend,

America is a blessed nation of citizens who take pride in their civil rights and liberties. As a former civics teacher, I understand the value instilled in the Bill of Rights, and as a proud member of the National Rifle Association, I strongly support the Second Amendment. Be assured I will oppose any legislation that restricts the ability of law abiding citizens to own and carry a firearm. Congress should focus on legislation for those who break laws and not for those who abide by them. I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure a citizen's right to bear arms is protected.

I did not come to Washington to participate in partisan politics, but instead to play a role in fixing the problems currently plaguing our nation. It is my belief that America has entered a new era, one that is hopefully a little less partisan, a little less fearful, and much more directed to meeting the needs of everyday Americans. My faith has taught me that great things are possible when we put aside our differences and work toward common goals we all share. I have faith in our country and its citizens, and I ask that you continue to keep a dialogue with me and my staff as we move forward together.

Alas a ray of hope from washington. At least he took the time to write you back with some news of his stance on RTKBA. Now as long as he sticks to his word at least its a start.

This is a very interesting reply but pay close attention to his second paragraph.

There is a lot of "wiggle" room in those words. I hope he is not just trying to pull the wool over your eyees.
