I am curious on the following headstamp, as best I can make it out:
ST+ 3 44 44p
The round itself is 9mm, with what appears to be a steel case and a dark coloured FMJ.
It is pretty old, WW 2 German perhaps?

The ST+ indicates a laquered steel case, 3 44 is the date the case was made, and I THINK 44p is Polte. The black bullet is sintered iron (compressed powdered iron) and was common in late 9mm ammo. Even with soft iron, barrel wear was high, but Germany had almost no copper for bullet jackets or brass cases.
(German ammo components were not always made in the same plant; cases would be made by one contractor, primers by another, bullets by another, powder by yet another. The ammo box, if available would have all the info.)
