I need a tooled knife case to match!A nice old nickel S&W Model 19 no dash 2.5" .357 which weighs exactly 2 pounds with the Fuzzy Farrant CoCo bolo grips (who knows what Fuzzy Farrant grips are?) in a Tio Sam Meyers holster on a pretty neat Tony Lama solid silver mounted bling belt from 30 years ago!

I wanted to keep the belt load pretty light for the up coming rodeo barbque season. ;)

That's all some serious BBQ stuff, but........geez, those grips seem huge for that pistol!

Those Fuzzy Farrants don't seem huge when you fire a burst of full power .357 Mag Remington 125 JHP .

Now that's a sweet rig! I especially like (and covet) the S.D. Myres holster.

That's one very fine set-up you've got there. From the nickel Model 19 snubbie, to the Farrants grips, the Lama belt, and the S.D. Myers holster; you have a beautiful and unique Four of a Kind going there. Thanks for sharing.

That is a Hank Sloan model SD Myers holster . Glad to see somebody recognizes the remarkable Fuzzy Farrant grips. They have a perfect palm swell yet are flat and symetrical for pinting index . Checkering is superb fit and finish perfect and grain matched in both grips. This model positions the hand as high as possible which helps with a .357 snub. I think Fuzzy sold out before he passed in late 70s to Mustang grips and some of his designs were mass produced for about 12 years.

I didn't see any knife cases at the El Paso Saddlery web site. Do you know of a source who can match a carved S.D. Myres holster in quality and style?
I've never held a set of Fuzzy Farrant grips. I imagine that a set that fits properly help you to get back on target quickly. Do they?

That's real purdy.
I have a gift certificate to El Paso Saddlery that I need to redeem soon...

I have heard a lot about barbeque guns lately. I have been to a lot of BBQ'S in my life and they were all pretty peaceful affairs. Now because I was an off-duty officer I most likely had my .38 in an ankle rig undetected by the other attendee's of these BBQ'S but I have never had the urge to wear a weapon in the open to a BBQ. Are you guys serious when you call these "BBQ guns". Do you really wear them to BBQ's? If so how did that get started? Whose idea was it to wear guns to BBQ's? Do the other people not look at you a little funny because your wearing a gun? I guess I just am curious about this.

Good looking gun, specially the grips. Never thought of a snubbie as "BBQ Gun" qualifying, but it works.
Now where's that "No Safe Queens" logo? J/K! :D

marano35, it's the sort of gun that you'd wear as a guest at a refined but not somber function such as the Governor's barbecue--in places where the Governors have BBQs. LawDog describes them
here (http://thelawdogfiles.blogspot.com/2006/03/court-guns-and-bbq-guns.html).

Coco bolo, or zebrawood? Got several sets of Fuzzy's grips, too (I wish he was still with us). Beautiful rig! We don't have too many such barbecues up here in Ohio, but I;m thinking of starting an annual affair soley for the purpose of showing off guns. Hope you get to wear your rig out on the town soon!

Try Tony at Black Hills Leather, Abilene, TX for a carved knife sheath. He might need the holster to make a close copy of the pattern.

Very apropos for a BBQ:). Wish there were more folks out there making leather of such caliber. Does anyone have any links to holster makers who do such work?

Here's a start, messerist. I don't have any of their leather, but the El Paso Saddlery company makes some holsters in the styles made by S.D. Myres. My only SD Myres gear isn't carved; it's the Sam Browne belt and holster that my Dad wore when he was in the Border Patrol.
Here's a link to El Paso Saddlery. (http://www.epsaddlery.com/default.aspx)
Here's another link with some history. (http://www.vintagegunleather.com/sdmyres_history.htm)
They'll give you some more examples to look at.
