I am a frequent browser, but an infrequent poster. That said, I love this site and I really appreciate the ideas and conversation that bounce around here on THR. No one in my immediate circle of family or friends is particularly interested in firearms or RTKBA issues, so I thought Id share with you fine folks that I am finally set up in a Basic Pistol course and will be getting my carry permit next month.:D Another legally armed citizen joins the ranks.

Its been a long time coming. I was a chef for years, and could never take the time on a Saturday to go to the class.

Welcome times two.

My oldest brother just got his CCP.
Another brother should get one soon as well.
We're growing.

Congratulations! Exercising rights is fun!

You didn't say where you live, but FYI you may have to wait for the bureaucrats to "process you" after the class before you actually get your permit. Here in Colorado it can take up to 90 days.

I just didn't want you getting TOO excited. :)

yeah mine took 2 and a half months here in Colorado to finally get it in the mail. Yup my right given to me by the 2nd Amendment was infringed upon for 2 and a half months. Oh well, better to work the system sometimes than fight it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of being armed!

I know it may take a bit of time, but at least Maine is a shall issue state. It'll get here eventually.
